"Discharged, he served again for ten weeks under Captain Thomas Harris as substitute for John Short. Again discharged, he was drafted the following summer and served three months under Captain Robert Hughes. The following summer, he was drafted again again for another three months under Captain Edward Mumford. He was drafted twice more for three month periods."
