Alma Joy Barton, 78, died Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at her daughter's home
in Morris, Oklahoma. She was born June 25, 1930 in Kiowa, Kansas the
daughter of Remi and Faith (Allison) Deltenre. A resident of Barber
County since 1952 spending the last few years of her life in Oklahoma
she was a homemaker, worked at Cross Manufacturing in Pratt, the Egg
Plant at Isabel, and was a Cook at Medicine Lodge High School for many
years. She was also the first person to manage Isaiah’s Thrift Store.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Medicine Lodge. On December
24, 1949 she married Samuel H. Barton at Clayton, New Mexico. He died
January 1, 2002.
She is survived by two daughters Dianne and husband
Robert Hunter of Morris, OK; Lavonne and husband Lynn McCray, Medicine
Lodge, KS; three brothers, Carl Deltenre, Washington; Verne Deltenre,
Glen Heights, TX; Johnny Deltenre, Spring, TX; two sisters June Smith,
Spring, TX; and Bonnie Sevin, Grapevine, TX; Grandchildren, Dustin Wolff
and wife Shawna, Shannon Wolff, Sarah McCray, and Joshua McCray and
wife Rebecca, and 5 Great Grandchildren, Sierra McDonald, Jasmine
Ricker, Hannah Wolff, Dylan Barnett and Ty Woods.
She was preceded
in death by her parents, and a son, Mark Andrew “Petey”, and a brother
Harold Deltenre.
Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Friday at
Larrison Funeral Home, Medicine Lodge. Family will receive friends from
6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m.
Saturday, May 9, 2009 at First Assembly of God Church, Medicine Lodge
with Pastor Steve Todd officiating. Burial will be in Isabel Cemetery,
Isabel. Memorials may be sent to St. Jude’s Research Hospital in care of
the funeral home.
