William "Bill" F. Barrett obituary

William F. "Bill" Barrett, age 80, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 12,
2017, from natural causes at his home in Klamath Falls, Ore. He was born
on Feb. 16, 1937, in Portland, Ore., to Edward Barrett and Madelyn
(Ward) Barrett.
He graduated from Albany Union High School in
1954. Bill attended the University of Notre Dame and graduated in 1959
with a BA in political science.
On Aug. 24, 1963, he married
Catherine Ann Morton in St. Aloysius Church in Spokane, Wash. They had
two children, Sean and Sheila.
From 1960 to 1967, he served in
the U.S. Army as a captain. In 1964, Bill and Kay successfully survived
the Great Alaskan Earthquake, which occurred on Good Friday. They were
also stationed in Orleans, France, and had the good fortune of traveling
across Europe with their parents.
Bill was a nursing home
administrator for 30 years, after which time he dedicated his life to
serving in his church community. He was an active member of St. Pius X
Roman Catholic Church in Klamath Falls and a member of the St. Pius X
Conference of St. Vincent DePaul Society.
Survivors include his
son Sean of Washougal, Wash.; his daughter Sheila Beard of Klamath
Falls; his brothers Dennis and John Barrett of Albany, Ore., and six
grandchildren.
