    Notes
    • Suspected children based on family associations listed in will or will abstracts, land records, marriage records, and other information. John Crawford's will has not been located to confirm their names.
    • A Botetourt County deed for William Crawford states that the original owner of the land was his father, John Crawford. [1]
    • William Crawford's and Margaret Kilpatrick's son Robert K. Crawford married his cousin, Elizabeth Crawford, daughter of James Crawford and Jane McClellan. That implies that William and James are brothers, which means that John Crawford was also James' father. [1]

    Family 1 Mary McRoberts,   b. 1755,   d. 1784  (Age 29 years)
    Married
    • If the dates for Mary's death and the marriage between William and Margaret are correct, then Elizabeth Crawford is most likely a child from his first marriage; Mary may have died in childbirth. It's possible that additional children attributed to his second marriage were from his first marriage. Need to do more research.
